Description

On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the University of Haifa hosted the conference “The Right to Pleasure, the Right to Health: Advancing Sexuality in the Public Sphere”, initiated by Prof. Anat Gesser-Edelsburg, Dr. Mika Moran, and Dr. Tשir Ben Porat from the School of Public Health.

The conference placed at its center a complex and critical public health issue: sexual well-being as a fundamental human right. Bringing together perspectives from health, policy, and social sciences, the event provided a multidisciplinary platform to explore the intersections of rights, health, and sexuality.

Participants engaged with leading experts through lectures and in-depth discussions on the importance of accessible knowledge, sensitive and informed policy-making, and fostering a responsible, inclusive public discourse on sexuality.

This event reflects the University of Haifa’s ongoing commitment to socially impactful research, elevating complex issues within the public agenda, and bridging academic knowledge with policy and community action. By doing so, the University continues to play a pivotal role in shaping a more equitable, healthy, and inclusive society.
