Mission
our mission is to drive impact for people and the planet.
Guided by the UN Sustainable Development Goals, we advance environmental and social sustainability through pioneering research, innovative education, global partnerships, and by leading through example.
Our unique geographic setting – stretching from the Carmel Mountain National Park campus, through Downtown Haifa, and out to our marine laboratories on the Mediterranean Sea – provides a living laboratory where society and environment meet.
Here, our researchers explore urgent local challenges while generating insights with global resonance, strengthened by an extensive network of international collaborations. We are committed not only to research excellence but also to educating the next generation of leaders.
Across bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs, our students engage deeply with social and environmental issues, integrating theory with practice in real-world contexts.
Through this approach, they become both knowledge creators and change agents.
The University of Haifa is also a microcosm of Israeli society. Our community brings together Jews, Muslims, Christians, Druze, and Circassians; religious and secular populations; citizens from the country’s center and periphery; and both civilians and security personnel.
In this pluralistic and inclusive environment, students and faculty learn, research, and innovate side by side, demonstrating that diversity is a source of strength and creativity. Through cutting-edge research, transformative education, social action, and sustainable operations, the University of Haifa is shaping a better, more sustainable, and more just future – locally and globally.
